At REM Legacy Foundation, our mission is to ease the financial burden faced by families grieving the unexpected loss of a loved one. We provide compassionate assistance with funeral costs and essential household expenses, helping families focus on healing instead of hardship.

REM Legacy Foundation was created out of love, loss, and a deep desire to help others find peace during life’s most painful moments. The initials “REM” carry personal meaning for us — a quiet tribute to someone whose memory continues to inspire everything we do.
After experiencing firsthand the emotional and financial toll of losing a loved one unexpectedly, we saw a painful truth: many families are not only grieving, but also overwhelmed by the high cost of saying goodbye.
REM was born from that heartbreak — a promise to stand with others who find themselves in similar situations. We provide assistance with funeral expenses and essential bills, so families in Sacramento, Solano, and Yolo Counties can focus on healing, not hardship.
Who We Help.
At REM Legacy Foundation, we support families who are experiencing the emotional and financial strain of losing a loved one unexpectedly. We understand that grief doesn’t follow a schedule — and neither do the bills, decisions, or responsibilities that follow a loss.
We assist individuals and families in Sacramento, Solano, and Yolo Counties who are:
- Facing unexpected funeral costs and need help covering burial or cremation expenses
- Struggling to pay essential bills (such as rent, utilities, or groceries) due to taking unpaid time off work to grieve
- Experiencing financial hardship as a direct result of a loved one’s passing
Our goal is to help families breathe a little easier during one of the hardest moments of their lives — offering dignity, support, and compassion when it matters most
How We Help.
REM offers burial assistance grants to alleviate the immediate financial burden that comes with funeral and burial expenses.
Our support may cover:

● Basic funeral home services
● Memorial or tribute services
● Coordination with providers to ensure funds are used appropriately
We also work to connect families with emotional support services and local grief resources whenever possible.

Our team will respond within 48–72 hours. If approved, we will work directly with your funeral provider to arrange payment of eligible costs.
